Rangers have announced that 24 year old Ross Perry has terminated his contract by mutual consent.

The defender progressed through our youth ranks and was part of the U19 side that won the domestic doubles in 2006-07 and 2007-08, and following two loan spells away with the club to help his development at Oxford and Falkirk, he then worked his way into manager Ally McCoist’s first team plans, making his debut against Caley Thistle as a substitute back in the game in August 2011.

Having signed a new four year contract in September 2011, and having made 23 appearances in 2012-13, also gaining international recognition at U21 level, Perry suffered from injury problems that seriously hampered his progress, and last season he failed to make a first team appearance.

The decision has been taken to allow him to move on in the search of regular football, so he can get his career back on track, and he leaves the club with everybody’s best wishes for the future.
