Kyle McAusland has said that his spell at Ayr United should stand him in good stead to make an impact at Rangers next season.

The 20 year old defender made 24 appearances whilst out on loan, 23 of which were in the first team, and he also scored 3 times.

He still has 2 years left on his deal at Rangers and he wants to be part of the first team squad next term especially as he now already has Second Division experience.

Speaking to the Official Site the defender said.

‘It’s been good to get out playing regular first team football, it’s been a great experience. As mad as it sounds, I’ve been a division above Rangers and hopefully that will stand me in good stead for next year. I’ve developed a lot in that time. Hopefully I can come back in good shape, and take things from there.’

Having the experience in the division should really help him and of course, he can tell everyone else about the standard and the differences between the two divisions which should help us hit the ground running again.
