Rangers striker, Alfredo Morelos, is the subject of more interest – this time on the continent – in the shape of a potential bid from La Liga giants Sevilla according to a report on Sky Sports News.

Sevilla have just lost Javier Hernandez to LA Galaxy and are believed to be eyeing up Morelos as his replacement.

Rangers have stated on more than one occasion through Ross Wilson and Steven Gerrard that the Colombian international will not be sold during this transfer window – even for £50m – such is his importance to the side attempting to wrestle Celtic’s grasp away from the Scottish Premiership title.

Morelos has been attracting attention from both the Premier League and Europe in recent weeks with Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan and now Sevilla linked with the 28 goal forward in the last few days alone.

The Light Blues have to make do without their talisman for one more game following his sending off at Parkhead in December and, despite being comfortable winners in the previous two, have looked far from their creative best without him.

Jermain Defoe has carried the mantle in Morelos’ absence with a goal in each of the two games but even he would accept that he isn’t capable of producing the same output and playing such a high volume of games that he did at his peak, he will be asked to go again once more against Hearts at the weekend though with Greg Stewart also still unavailable through injury.

Will Alfredo Morelos still be at Rangers at the end of the transfer window?

Yes

Yes

No

With the Gers looking to secure the signature of Tyrese Campbell in the next few days, as is being reported, it would appear that they are already in the process of looking to a future without Morelos whilst they hope that they can fend off interest – until the summer at least.
