In what is sure to be music to Gers fans ears, The Scottish Sun has reported that Ryan Kent has told Steven Gerrard that he is going nowhere and is fully committed to bringing success to Ibrox.

The 23-year old forward has been the subject confirmed bids from Leeds United believed to be £8.5million and £10m.

Why they think that Rangers would sell – arguably – their best player, and one that is currently in great form, for little more than they paid for him is beyond me, especially when you consider that Liverpool will be entitled to 20% of any sell on profit.

The article in The Sun also claims that Kent is said to be angry at a story in 90min.com which – without source – “revealed” that he had told the Rangers hierarchy that he was wanting to leave the club.

It shouldn’t be forgotten just how hard Kent fought to get the permanent move to the Light Blues and if anything, his lack of a pre-season contributed to the hamstring injury that ruled him out for a large period of 2019/20.

With three goals in his first five games, the England youth cap is clearly injury free and firing on all cylinders, he has also been a constant threat to Scottish defences, Chris Burke is still trying to get back into Ibrox after being sent for a hotdog in the first half on Saturday.

Is Ryan Kent now Rangers best player?

Yes

No

Not many fans would’ve valued Kent above Alfredo Morelos heading into this season but after the first few games it would be hard to argue against the £7.5m man being Gerrard’s most valuable player, it’ll be a nervous wait until the transfer window shuts but, for now, he’s staying where he belongs – his spiritual “home”.
