Rangers in £10m transfer battle as Premier League new boys target key Ibrox star

|

Ryan Kent has been the subject of a £10million bid from Leeds United in what has been described as a “shock” move by The Scottish Sun despite the Premier League new boys having an interest in the forward last summer.

Rangers signed the 23-year old from Liverpool last season for £7m and with the recently crowned champions said to have a sell-on clause of around 20%, there is little chance of Steven Gerrard sanctioning such a move – especially for one of his key players.

After a fine pre-season, Kent has looked backed to his best following an injury plagued eight months last term where he still managed to produce a goal every three league games and has started this term – alongside Joe Aribo – as the Light Blues most effective attacking threat having scored in two of the first four games.

The last thing the Gers gaffer would want to do when he is in the process of building a squad capable of mounting a title challenge is sell one of his most productive and settled players when he is already faced with the potential loss of Alfredo Morelos and integrating Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten at the same time.

Would you sell Kent for £10m?

Yes

No

No

Not only will Gerrard not want to sell Kent for playing reasons, the financial side of the deal doesn’t benefit him either and if Leeds are serious in their attempts to sign the England youth international, they will need to start their bidding a lot higher than the figure being mentioned – especially when you consider the obvious wealth that they have just inherited.
