Following developments this afternoon, Glen Kamara’s lawyer has spoken out on the interim ruling by UEFA.

Aamer Anwar, in defence of his client, has suggested that Slavia’s Ondrej Kudela should be hit with a one year ban from the European governing body, effectively stating that the initial one-game ban is nowhere near suitable punishment.

The ‘prima-facie’ one game ban assumes no prejudice on the final ruling, which will be delivered when UEFA makes its casting decision on the report from the investigator which has been presented to the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary committee.

UEFA’s final decision will be made soon, in due course.

It will be a travesty if there is effective equivalence to the punishments handed out to Kamara and Kudela for what happened on the night of the game.

Whilst Slavia have been clever to include a favourable quote from the investigator’s ruling in their statement released today, the full extent of that report remains to be seen.

Anwar, Kamara, Rangers as well as the wider football community await that outcome with interest.
