Ibrox has seen a number of defenders take to the field so far this season, with Steven Gerrard yet to decide on a singular duo in the heart of the Rangers defence.
Connor Goldson has been a regular, but beyond the former Brighton man, a number of players have had a chance to prove their worth. From Joe Worrall to Gareth McAuley, they’ve all started games, and sooner or later, they’ve all lost their place.
One man, however, that has hardly featured for much of the season is Nikola Katic. The 22-year-old looked likely to be a regular this season alongside Goldson when he signed n the summer, but it hasn’t played out like that.
Lots of Rangers supporters, however, seemingly want that to change. We recently asked them whether Katic should be a regular moving forward, and 90% of those polled have revealed that they think he should.
Katic has bags of talent, but even he hasn’t been void of mistakes this season. Poor performances, after all, are eventually what cost him his spot in the first team earlier this year.
However, his talent is clear for all to see. He’s technically gifted and a fantastic reader of the game, and it’s always going to be tough for someone to make an impact when they’re given such irregular game time.
Maybe giving him a few changes over the coming weeks could make him shine.
