Fraser Aird has said the atmosphere today against Berwick felt like a Champions League encounter, and he was delighted to grab the winner.

Speaking to the Official Site following the 1-0 victory on the final day of the season, the player said.

‘It was a brilliant experience playing in front of Ibrox when it was sold out, it felt like a Champions League night out there to be honest. To score my first goal on such a big day was brilliant.’

Aird said that Ally McCoist had been telling him to make runs to the front post when the ball was coming in from the other side, and he did that to glance the cross from Kyle Hutton to give us the winner.

‘To finally get the trophy means so much, for a lot of the boys, it’s a first medal, but hopefully the first of many.’

Aird now says he’s looking forward to seeing the manager bring in further experience over the summer so we can again look at automatic and successive promotions next season.
