One of the areas that Michael Beale suggested that we might have been trying to improve in January was in the centre of defence, saying he would “like to have” another centre-half.

A season that has seen us play with midfielders at the back despite having five centre-halves on the books has served as a warning for future campaigns, there is a no doubt that it has been a factor in us being nine instead of six or even three points behind at the top of the table.

A few names have been mentioned, however, a new one has emerged that offers a bit more positivity in terms of the current attitudes towards Ross Wilson and the recruitment team.

Fundamentally, we are looking for a fourth choice or rotational option, someone who won’t kick off if they aren’t playing all the time, now that John Souttar appears to be fit. We also have to make sure that Leon King’s development isn’t stunted.

Thomas Kristensen is a near 6ft 6inches tall Denmark Under-21 international who currently plays for Aarhus and Rangers have been linked with a potential summer move according to Danish media outlet BT Sporten, who claim that he has already been to visit the club.

Kristensen ticks a lot of boxes in terms of ability on the ball as well as being able to do the basics in the art of defending, the only question is, what sort of fee would his club want for their prized asset and could we afford it?
