One of the big Rangers debates with regards to Steven Gerrard’s first-team right now is who should play in defence alongside Connor Goldson.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion man has been almost ever present this season, but his defensive partner has changed throughout, with Steven Gerrard switching between Nottingham Forest loanee Joe Worrall and Croatian prospect Nikola Katic.

21-year-old Katic impressed heavily in his first spell in Gerrard’s starting eleven, forging a defensive partnership with Goldson that took us into the group stages of the UEFA Europa League.

Rather unceremoniously he was dropped, perhaps unfairly, to accommodate Worrall in the position.

The Nottingham Forest man has failed to impress consistently though, with fans not having much confidence in his defensive ability nor his composure when playing from the back.

With Worrall making it clear he won’t be here for the long-term and will return to Forest, is it time for Gerrard to put his faith in Katic, who has shown nothing but commitment since joining the club?

Should Joe Worrall be dropped for upcoming matches? Have your say in our poll below…
