Rangers winger Ryan Kent is not phased by Brendan Rodgers’ departure from Celtic, insisting that the Gers’ plans for the season are unchanged, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

Rodgers has decided to quit life at Celtic Park to join Leicester City in the English Premier League, handing a massive boost to the Ibrox side in our quest for major honours this season.

Kent though believes that the Gers just need to stay focused on what Steven Gerrard’s side are bringing to the table.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, the on-loan Liverpool man said:

I guess it’s a boost but nothing really changes for us.

We are concentrating on our own game as that’s what is most important. We want to get three points in every match and see what happens.

I learned a lot from Brendan during our time at Liverpool. He’s a good manager and he will be a miss for Celtic. But I am sure they will appoint someone who will do a good job as well.

It would be easy to be distracted right now by the drama happening across the city but Gerrard’s team need to keep focused each match directly in front of them and ensuring we deliver a performance tonight against Dundee is key.

We’ve shown this season that we struggle to break defensive teams down at Ibrox and we need have an aggressive attitude in front of what will be a buoyant home support this evening.

With Celtic making a difficult trip to Tynecastle to face Hearts, victory for the Gers tonight could pile further pressure on the Hoops’ and Neil Lennon’s shoulders.

Given Kent’s form in recent weeks and months, he will be absolutely critical to that aim.
