Opinion: Gerrard’s Rodgers claim should be a word of warning to Rangers

Rangers will be looking to apply the pressure this evening in the title race as we take on a Dundee side that we should be beating.

We appear to have gotten something up our sleeves when it comes to the lesser lights in the division now and hopefully, another big win is on the way.

However, whilst that will delight and the situation at Celtic is obviously making us smile as well, there’s a word of warning in what Steven Gerrard has had to say about it all.

Indeed, yesterday in his press conference he said this:

Indeed, the lure of the Premier League does seem to be too big and with the money and all that that entails – even when it’s a club like Leicester who, let’s be honest, aren’t going to be winning anything.

And, that in mind, it is a reminder that for all the good work Steven Gerrard has done, the size of working in the Premier League can pull anyone away from their job.

I don’t see the gaffer leaving any time soon but if a PL side did come calling eventually for him, it might be a concern that he won’t be able to turn it down either.

Then again, he’s shown more loyalty in his career before than what Rodgers has…
