It looks like former Rangers trialist Andrew Gutman will not be joining Steven Gerrard’s squad anytime soon, with The Scottish Sun suggesting he has agreed a deal to sign up with Celtic this January.
Gutman was one of two Americans who took part in training at Auchenhowie in December.
The other, Matt Polster, was invited to the Gers’ winter training camp in Tenerife, but Gutman did not make the trip and Celtic have moved quickly to sign him up, pending a work permit.
The left-back is a highly-rated prospect coming out of the American college system, with teams like Chicago Fire said to be really interested in signing him up after an award winning season last term.
It’s fair to say the news hasn’t gone down particularly well with some Rangers fans who were hoping to see him compete for places in Steven Gerrard’s first team squad.
If we get Polster and THEY get Gutman I’ll be heartbroken. I want both.

How pathetic but expected from a club with no class

Others though are far more amused by the situation, clearly believing that Gutman must not have been good enough to win a deal at Ibrox after his trial.
Have Celtic just signed a Rangers rejected? These fans weighed in…
