It has been claimed that Aaron Ramsey’s season is not finished at Ibrox following concerns that forced him off the pitch at Hampden last Sunday.

On the face of it, that would be good news as he is obviously a very talented player but his contribution in recent weeks since his involvement has increased has been one of a bit-part player. There was the Old Firm goal at Ibrox then he faded, he didn’t stand out in the home game against Braga and then he had to limp off before half-time in the Scottish Cup semi-final win.

As reported today by the Scottish Sun, the hamstring injury picked up is said to be a minor one.

What next then for Ramsey and this Rangers team in the moment, here and now?

Next on the horizon is Motherwell followed by the huge test away to RB Leipzig in the Europa League on Thursday – both of those games will surely not feature the on loan Juventus midfielder. Sandwiched between the Euro games is the last Old Firm game of the season with the visit to Parkhead, again not the type of arena to throw a player into when just back from injury.

It would appear that Ramsey, if fit, will have to settle for a cameo role whenever he does return with the carrot of a Scottish Cup Final and hopefully a date with destiny in Seville at the Europa League Final on May 18th to aim for.

The challenge for the player is to prove his relative fitness and sharpness to reclaim a starting spot with plenty still left to play for.
