Connor Goldson stepped up for the team, club and fans when it mattered at Dens Park but he knows there’s plenty more required in this title race.

In the late stages, the Englishman kept his cool and finished with aplomb sending a controlled effort past the Dundee keeper like a seasoned striker. What a relief it was!

The pressure is only going to increase across the three fronts that Rangers are still fighting on and Goldson is all too aware of what is required. After the game yesterday, he fronted up to Rangers TV in bullish mood, but ready to use the international downtime for the massive end to the season.

He stated,  “We said a few weeks ago we had 10 cup finals. We’ve got seven left. If we want to win the league, we know how we need to be and how big our results have to be.”

“We need to go on and win every one. So we need to rest up, get a bit of a break and then come back for a crazy month.”

Rangers rallied for the win on Sunday but much better will be required, starting with the Old Firm encounter on April 3rd.

Goldson is right to describe the fixture list as crazy but the big games with high rewards are what the players and supporters want – it’s the way it should be at Ibrox.

With his leadership and responsibility as displayed in the winner against Dundee, the central defender will continue to be a pivotal player for Rangers who will have a big say in terms of his own impact if silverware is to be secured in May.
