Giovanni van Bronckhorst stated that he knows who he will play up front against Hearts tomorrow but opted to keep it to himself for now.

Alfredo Morelos or Antonio Colak will be that individual but with both carrying a different type of threat, it is an important aspect in terms of the incision that will be required if the visitors are to get the job done and return to Glasgow with three points on Saturday afternoon.

When asked if he had made his mind up on his front man for the return to league action, the response was:

“I have made my decision. You will see it tomorrow.”

In a matter of fact and obvious way, the manager reiterated the need to continue the winning feeling. Dundee United ended the run of bad results although there was still plenty lacking from the performance level. That needs to change tomorrow as going through the motions rarely, if ever, yields the desired outcome at Tynecastle.

The first test of a few will be presented to GvB’s men tomorrow and it is one they cannot afford to fail. The international break came at the right time but now it’s time to get back to work and make an impression.

September was largely a month to forget for all at Ibrox with the irony of its lows coming after the Champions League qualification high, sealed in Eindhoven in August.

The inconsistency, unpredictability and variation is a feature of Rangers under Gio – good and bad – but the run of results has to come now, if it is to be forthcoming at all.

We will see tomorrow, in more ways than one.
