After a quiet afternoon, significant updates have been provided this evening to suggest that Rangers are about to confirm agreement with Giovanni van Bronckhorst to be the new manager.
The social media rumour mill was cranked up again following reports from outlets such as the Glasgow Times, Sky Sports and most recently Jim White of talkSport – all of which aren’t likely to have been provided without some kind of guidance from those very close to the deal.

With a deal seemingly very close, the scene is set for Rangers to make the big reveal tomorrow morning to galvanise everyone at the club ahead of a massive week on the pitch.
Earlier today, VitalRangers reported on news that no agreement had been reached, but that talks were ongoing – with both sides seemingly eager and willing to find common ground. One area of supposed difficulty has been the composition of the backroom staff who would follow the Dutchman to Ibrox.
Tomorrow marks one week since the departure of Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa but it is fair to say that the club have acted diligently in targeting their preferred candidate and to thrash out a deal.
Impatience and frustration is always going to come from a dedicated and fanatical fanbase such as Rangers’ but it now appears that the finish line is in sight as we await that craved moment of celebration.
