Rangers have had a mixed campaign so far, but many of Steven Gerrard’s players have been pretty good, all told.

Undeniably, one of the more impressive players at Ibrox this season has been Connor Goldson. Now, granted, he hasn’t been faultless, with his form against Spartak Moscow last week, in particular, raising cause for concern – but he’s otherwise been very solid.

For a player that only moved to the club over the summer, he’s made an immediate impact, and that’s all Gerrard really could have asked for.

Indeed, it appears as though Rangers fans have been pretty impressed too. We recently asked fans whether they think he’s been their best signing of the season, and in response, 67% of those polled revealed that they think he has.

Given the quality on display at Rangers, and significantly the number of individuals that were brought in, that’s very high praise for a defender that didn’t really get much of a sniff at Brighton last year.

He’s got bags of defensive quality, and he’s been a real rock at the back for us.

If he can get back to the form he showed a few weeks ago, he’ll quickly emerge as one of our, if not our single best player.

  • I have to disagree as Goldson has been average to poor over the last 7 games and the only person to be consistent since the new season began is Alan McGregor who has not had a bad game and in fact has saved Rangers on numerous occasions
