The printed version of yesterday’s Scottish Daily Mail (page 84,) is reporting that Rangers are willing to let winger Glenn Middleton go this summer out on loan.

The youngster scored five goals last season as he made a decent amount of appearances and it certainly looks as though his future is going to be bright at our club.

However, if Steven Gerrard looks to add players in the summer window – which he is surely doing – then it could leave Middleton without much chance of game time next year.

A player at his age needs to be getting good football experience – particularly with the talent he has – and so he must play next season.

It makes sense, then, that we are looking to send him out on loan but hopefully we’ll be able to get him to a club that works for him – as these deals can be risky at times.

I’d imagine a player of his calibre will end up at the right sort of club though.
