The Scottish Sun has reported that former Rangers loanee, Florian Kamberi, turned down the opportunity to return to Ibrox in favour of a move to his home land and a permanent transfer to St Gallen.
The Hibernian forward made a positive impact in his time in Light Blue but with just one goal and one assist to his name in 11 appearances, he didn’t do enough to persuade Steven Gerrard to make a concrete offer for him.
Despite the report in The Sun, Rangers – through popular fan media site Heart and Hand – flatly denied that any bid had ever been made for the 25-year old.
Have spoken to club and this is 100% bollocks. They said he was never offered a deal by Rangers at all. They aren’t usually as forthcoming which suggests that this is a total fallacy. Had they done anything they wouldn’t flatly deny it. pic.twitter.com/J4PhHsTz0f

Gerrard has been linked with a host of strikers, even before the transfer window opened, and although Kamberi was a willing contributor, he just didn’t produce the numbers that a player in Rangers front three should be delivering.
Would you have liked Rangers to sign Kamberi?
Yes
No
The Gers gaffer has been looking for extra firepower all summer and an announcement should be close over the course of this week, with Alfredo Morelos still the only fit striker available to him, the last thing he would want is to be dropping points because of a lack of options up front.
Rangers take the trip to Germany for their second leg, last 16 Europa League tie against Bayer Leverkusen before returning to Ibrox for the first time this season to face St Mirren at the weekend, a new face sitting on the bench would be a welcome addition by the time the Paisley outfit visit on league duty, but one thing is for certain – it won’t be Florian Kamberi.
