Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter is on the brink of a January exit from the club after Steven Gerrard made the decision to sanction a loan move for the player, as reported by The Express.

Having put the majority of his long-term injury and fitness problems behind him, Rossiter has this season made his return to first-team action, making five appearances for Gerrard.

He’s been training regularly and even when not making an appearance has been a regular inclusion in the matchday squad on the substitute’s bench.

Rossiter now needs regular senior action to ramp up his development and The Express report clubs like Dundee United and Fleetwood Town are interested in bringing him in for the remainder of the season.

Gerrard is in favour of such a move according to the report, but will make sure any interested party covers the majority of his weekly wage at Rangers.

This could be the kind of move the player needs to kick start his career at the club, proving to everyone he is capable of playing regularly week-to-week without a breakdown in his fitness.
