Former Player Surprisingly Flips “Bottle” Question On Celtic When It Comes To The Title Race

|

With manager Steven Gerrard seeing his Rangers squad perfectly battle Celtic for top spot so far in 2019/20, it was inevitable that as the games ticked by the talk about ‘bottle’ or holding our nerve, would intensify.

With only goal difference separating us from Neil Lennon’s side, in terms of general form, many believe that the race for top spot and the title will simply come down to the Old Firm clashes that remain in the campaign, but quite curiously, former Celtic striker Craig Beattie has questioned whether his former side will hold their ‘bottle’ given how tightly we are challenging them this year.

Beattie was quoted by Sky Sports this week as saying.

“I flipped the question on him and said ‘How do we know that Celtic have got the bottle?’ because with three or four games to go, nobody has been challenging them of late. I get what he is saying from a Rangers perspective but from a Celtic perspective, they’ve been runaway winners for however many years now. So how will they cope with three or four games to go?”

Expectation at Rangers is pretty clear and that brings its own pressures, but it’s a fair point from Beattie. Celtic are used to having it their own way and comfortably so in recent seasons, how will they cope when the next slip-up comes along – it’s a different kind of pressure this year and one they aren’t really used to.

Does Beattie Make A Decent Point?

Yes

No, it's in our hands anyway

It’s going to be an interesting festive period this year, as somebody has to take advantage and we know we can do it.
