The Gers are in the midst of a rather hectic run at the moment and it is clear that they could do without any extra games than already pencilled in.

We do, of course, have a replay to contend with after the draw with Kilmarnock, though, and hopefully we’ll be able to put them away at Ibrox easier than at their place on Saturday.

One of the headlines, though, was Steven Gerrard suggesting Alan Power might want citing – though that could lead to a ban against Celtic.

And, in criticising Gerrard for suggesting that, Andy Walker – a former Celt – does actually have a point.

He was quoted by Sky Sports News earlier today as saying:

“I have no idea why Steven Gerrard wants Alan Power to be cited for that as Kilmarnock’s next game is against Celtic, why would you want one of the more important, more influence players, why would you want him to miss a game against your rivals?”

And I think that is fair enough.

Absolutely, call players out when needed but sometimes I wonder whether we should box clever – I’d rather see Power play and do some damage against them.

It is tough, and sometimes you have to speak up regardless – but I can sort of see Walker’s point here.
