It’s been somewhat of a mixed bag for Rangers as manager Steven Gerrard prepares for Thursday evening’s clash against Villarreal as our Europa League journey continues.

Five in total will miss out, including Ovie Ejaria, Ryan Jack and Gareth McAuley who have reported not travelled with the group to Spain. They did, of course, miss the game against Dundee last weekend.
Alfredo Morelos and Jon Flanagan are also missing through suspension following their dismissals in the last match.
Morelos has travelled though and fans were delighted to see that Graham Dorrans had also made the trip with the group, despite the 31-year-old not featuring for Gerrard this season as he continues to battle injury since arriving at Ibrox.
Whether or not fans should read into that when it comes to his recovery, I honestly don’t know but you certainly wouldn’t expect him to feature. I presume it’s to keep him with the group and boost his spirits whilst he works his way back.
With Ejaria and Jack not travelling it leaves us with 1 central midfielder spare as Halliday or McCrorie will be beside Coulibaly and Arfield in midfield.
