Steven Gerrard has named his Rangers starting eleven for tonight’s encounter away to Spanish side Villarreal.

After getting back to winning ways domestically at the weekend, it’s an exciting evening for the Gers, who kick-off the first match of their UEFA Europa League group stage campaign.

Tonight’s opponents are undoubtedly tough having finished 5th in La Liga last term.

As announced by UEFA, Gerrard’s match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Allan McGregor, James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Joe Worrall, Borna Barisic, Andy Halliday, Lassana Coulibaly, Scott Arfield, Ryan Kent, Daniel Candeias, Kyle Lafferty.

Substitutes – Wes Foderingham, Graham Dorrans, Umar Sadiq, Ross McCrorie, Nikola Katic, Eros Grezda, Glenn Middleton.

It’s an exciting line-up, with Lassana Coulibaly being trusted to start having only played an hour against Dundee and Joe Worrall making his debut in defence alongside Connor Goldson.

We can’t wait to see what Worrall is all about.

Alfredo Morelos is suspended of course so Kyle Lafferty comes in to make his 5th start of the season.

Graham Dorrans could also return to action, appearing on the bench after a long absence through injury.

Is it an eleven that can pick up a famous result in Spain?
