Sandy Easdale, who had been chairman of the board, was one of three suspended from his duties on Tuesday, along with former chief exec Derek Llambias and ex-finance director Barry Leach.

It was previously though that ‘an internal probe into the trio’ was to be carried out but any investigation will not involve Easdale any longer after it was confirmed with a statement on the Official Website this evening that he has ‘agreed to resign from his directorships.’

No fee was paid for his directorships and this resignation, with ‘immediate effect’, was said to have been resolved on ‘an amicable basis.’

‘The Rangers Football Club Limited confirms that matters have been resolved with Sandy Easdale on an amicable basis.

‘Mr Easdale has agreed to resign from his directorships with the Group with immediate effect and he does so wishing the Club, its supporters and the new Board every success for the future.

‘The Club thanks Mr Easdale for his co-operation in this changeover and confirms the investigation previously referred to will not now proceed. The Club is also happy to confirm that Mr Easdale did not receive any remuneration in respect of the directorships he held with the Club.’

Slowly we’re getting back to the focus of things on the pitch aren’t we! That being said that’s not often something you want to focus on!
