Rangers legend, and coach Ian Durrant has been handed a Euro spying mission by Walter Smith. Durrant will go on a 4000 mile round trip to Turkey and Spain.

The Blue and White dynamite will report back to Walter Smith on his findings ahead of Rangers 2010/2011 UEFA Champions League campaign. Rangers face Manchester United first, at Old Trafford next week but Durrant will be spying on our other opponents Bursaspor and Valencia.

On his trip, Durrant will first take in Bursaspor’s match against Eskisehirspor. He will then make his way to Spain and take in Valencia’s game against Racing Santander in La Liga on Sunday.

Not much spying will be required on Manchester United as we see them every week on Sky Sports, and plus the fact Walter Smith used to be the assistant manager at Old Trafford and knows Sir Alex Ferguson very well.

It’s going to be a tough group but Rangers will be hoping to improve on last year’s nightmare where we suffered two 4-1 losses at Ibrox. Third place and entry into the Europa League is a realistic target but you never know we may be able to sneak into second place and make the last sixteen.
