We’re beginning to see some of our new players play for Rangers now and the early signs have been pretty promising.
Of course, we’ve not played much and the only competitive game we have had was a bit of a gimme in all fairness but the players have still looked sharp and that is pleasing.
Indeed, Joe Aribo is already looking well at home at Ibrox ahead of what could be a big season for him and he will be looking to show that he was right to come to the Gers.
Some, of course, have criticised the move to come north of the border with his former manager Lee Bowyer particularly vocal and now another former Charlton manager has had his say.
Quoted by News Shopper, former Addick Chris Powell has suggested that perhaps Aribo should have taken the decision to move elsewhere this summer or, indeed, stay at Charlton.
He said:
“He’ll do well in Scotland for sure.
“He’s got the talent but I’m not too sure he should’ve gone, in my personal opinion.
“I think he should’ve stayed at Charlton or maybe looked at one or two other options but it’s his decision.
“I think for a player like him to be playing at Championship level, I think he would’ve alerted a lot more teams.
“Hopefully he’ll go to Rangers and play, that’s the most important thing for a young player.”
Aribo’s move hasn’t gone down well with many in England, and so hopefully he’ll be able to show why it was the right call overall.
