Antonio Colak continues to display a masterclass in finishing following his latest brace, this time against Hearts at Tynecastle.

The Croatian hitman secured his third double of the Premiership season to take him to eight league goals and a very satisfactory 10 across all competitions.

His quality really made the difference to swing the game in Rangers favour on Saturday. A deadly first half double sent the visitors on their way toward the three points, which really should have secured by the interval considering the horrendous decision by Steven McLean to disallow Scott Arfield’s goal soon after Cammy Devlin had been sent off.

Colak made way for Alfredo Morelos midway through the second half but he had already made his mark, another fine showing in a Rangers shirt.

He told Sky Sports after the game:

“I’m really happy with that (on his goals). I am hungry, that is what I came for. I enjoy it, I like to celebrate with our fans. Thanks to them for the support. We now have a short break and we look out for Tuesday.”

That trip to Liverpool is just around the corner and it would appear that the German-born striker has done enough to convince the manager that he deserves to start the glamour Champions League clash in Merseyside.

Yes, he is maybe not as good as Morelos in linking the play as well as bullying defenders but he does his fair share of graft around the box to complement his finishing. Right now, Colak is the Rangers striker in form compared to the ‘best version’ of the Colombian and the most likely to put the ball in the net.

With Jurgen Klopp’s men currently leaking goals, that prospect is far from improbable.
