Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos returned to Steven Gerrard’s starting eleven tonight in the Scottish Cup, destroying Kilmarnock with a four goal haul as part of a superb 5-0 replay victory.
If there was any doubt left that Rangers heavily rely on the Colombian, it was shattered by his performance tonight after he scored two goals in each half to help his side roar through to a quarter final date with Aberdeen.
He has now scored an incredible 27 goals this season in all competitions, blitzing the rest of his striking competition at the top level in Scotland.
Killie may have gone down to ten men, but the attitude of Gerrard’s side still had to be spot on and the 22-year-old forward led by example.
His display has prompted wild celebration on social media this evening, with fans happy to make wild statements such as him being the best player in the world right now.
It is of course said with tongue in cheek, but that’s the kind of confidence supporters have in him right now.
These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his contribution…
