Michael Beale refused to get carried away or complacement in the aftermath of the 3-0 win over Motherwell at Ibrox on Wednesday night.

The visitors were very poor to say the least and despite the three goal margin of victory, a fairly comfortable one, it was not a convincing or commanding show from Rangers with too many areas of vulnerability still on display.

That was something that the boss picked up on post match when speaking to the press.

In the above comment from The Athletic’s Jordan Campbell, the words attributed to Beale come with a sense of disappointment that more was not taken from the game, despite some positives to enjoy.

Three more points continue the 100% start to the new manager’s time in charge, whilst the likes of Malik Tillman and Ryan Kent were very productive for the Gers in the final third.

In particular, the German-American stood out for his impact as agreed by Kevin Thomson on Rangers TV who picked him as Man of the Match.

There will be no sense of misguided confdence going into the meeting with Celtic on Monday as there is still so much for Rangers to do, individually and collectively. That can work in the team’s favour as long as the forward strides are made in the Old Firm encounter but we will find out then, just where exactly this team is at. Scoring goals is not the problem, rather the overall standard of performance and phases of play during games which is still too disjointed – with that word used by Beale, as above.

Another clean sheet can be added to the relative successes from this latest win but the over riding feeling is still one of waiting for that full performance to be delivered.
