Rangers Word On The Tweet

BBC pundit claims “SFA have no choice” but to ban Morelos in sinister agenda

|

Chris Sutton has gone full “Dunfermline” in his latest rant in the Daily Record about Alfredo Morelos in the aftermath or Rangers 2-1 Old Firm victory over his beloved Celtic on Sunday.

In a purely objective post, Sutton is prescribing a five game ban for Morelos for no other reason than because his gesture – after being sent off in the 96th minute of a 94 minute game – was violent. He definitely doesn’t want Morelos banned because it would benefit Celtic, no, absolutely not.

We all know the narrative Sutton is trying to create, he’s done it before, on numerous occasions, even claiming Rangers “had” to sell Morelos. The Ibrox club released a statement of their own addressing the continued treatment that the Colombian receives both on and off the park.

Alas, Sutton fails to mention Scott Brown striking James Tavernier in the face or Ryan Christie grabbing Morelos in the nether regions in the same match, maybe he is suggesting that there is a place for their behaviour in football, nothing at all to do with the colour of the shirt they were wearing.

Should Rangers seek legal action over Sutton's Morelos comments?

Yes

No

Sutton’s complaints fall on deaf ears when he refuses to accept and acknowledge the acts of his own team, stones and glass houses and all that. These Rangers fans were raging at his post and took to twitter to vent their anger with some suggesting an alternate motive may be behind his opinion.

Rangers fans were, rightly, up in arms about Sutton’s reaction for the incident and are beginning to fear a more sinister cause for the constant criticism that is aimed at Morelos, some fans even had the audacity to reflect on the incident with common sense – exactly, it will never catch on in Scottish football.
