Rangers have repeated their call for VAR to be introduced into Scottish football after the latest in a long line of refereeing blunders that have affected the Ibrox club.
#RangersFC is today repeating its call for the introduction of VAR (Video Assistant Referee) following Sunday’s Scottish Premiership victory at Parkhead: https://t.co/j3bDjEo019 pic.twitter.com/kvats6SnjQ

The statement, released on the club’s website highlights three recent decisions that have been called incorrectly by match officials; John Beaton awarding a free-kick instead of a penalty against Aberdeen, Celtic’s offside goal to win the Betfred Cup and the numerous controversial decisions made by Kevin Clancy in Sunday’s Old Firm victory.
The treatment of Alfredo Morelos is also highlighted as, again, he appeared to be refereed to a different standard by Clancy. Boli Bolingoli, Ryan Christie and Christopher Jullien all, very, lucky to escape red cards, one mistake is excusable, more than three is grossly incompetent.
Do you want VAR implemented in Scottish football?
Yes
No
Rangers fans took to twitter to show their support for the club’s statement, happy that they are not taking the recent decisions that have gone against them lying down.
Yes.
Make the point after a win, overcoming several disgraceful decisions.

Great statement. Enough is enough. 👏👏👏

Long overdue. Reduces the likelihood of biased refereeing against the club that we’ve had to suffer over the season so far.

Yet again our win against the dark side of Glasgow was tainted by a very poor performance by the match officials. gifted a penalty, yet the same offence against Aribo went unpunished, blatant handball at ceptics goal was missed and how ceptic kept 11 players on was baffling

Get in there Rangers, say it like it is. Calling out the Alfie-haters for the disgraceful treatment he receives (its racism imo) & you haven’t missed the mark on the very dodgy decisions that constantly go against us. Well done! 🇬🇧

Good statement👍. Glad something has been said about the incompetence of the officiating in our recent games

Rangers may not necessarily intend for VAR to be implemented but what they have done is highlight the poor quality of officiating in Scotland, with so much at stake, the bare minimum should be that the Scottish Football Association finally appoints full-time professional referees, the first step on the road to improving standards.
