Calvin Bassey has completed his move to Ajax from Rangers, having penned a five year deal with the Amsterdam club.
In a massive sale, worth a total of just under £23 million (at present), there is an additional profit for Rangers further down the line with a sell-on clause.

The deal represents tremendous business for all at Ibrox and huge credit must go to all the coaches to have worked with the player as well as Calvin Bassey, himself.
Imagine after that Sparta Prague away game last season, the suggestion of the former Leicester man being moved on for in excess of £20m – the rapid rate of development in his levels toward the end of the season was remarkable.
A key factor for the change was Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s acceptance of playing with risk in defence and putting that responsibility at the feet of his players. Think of the duels in the Europa League, lining up against the likes of Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig on the way to the final.
Bassey’s progress mirrored that of Rangers, as he relished the individual battles that were sustained right through to the decider against Eintracht Frankfurt when he was awarded man of the match, forcing even more to sit up and take notice of his qualities and further potential.
At just 22, there is still plenty of scope for the Nigeria international to progress further, especially now at Ajax, in order to take the next eventual step of a move to a club in England, Italy or Spain.
I’m reliably informed it’s €22m, €5m in add-ons and a 10% sell-on.
That latter part will, I think, be worth a fair chunk.
