Rangers fans have backed their club more than ever before over the last 18-months, be it through season ticket sales, buying merchandise or with MyGers memberships and now, with a recently announced share issue, they have yet another opportunity to show why they are among the best in the world.

The uptake on the share issue has been “astonishing” according to chairman Douglas Park and former Ger, Alan Hutton, believes that it’s a “win-win” situation at a time when money is tight and match day revenue is hugely affected, as reported by Football Insider:

“We’ve seen the loyalty from fans buying up the season tickets. We don’t even know when they’re going to be able to get but 40,000-plus have been sold.

“Now, an opportunity to buy your own little piece of the club, I think it’s brilliant. They want to try and raise £6.75million.

“Rangers, like every other club, have lost out on a lot of money. Every home game they’ll be losing a fortune.

“It gives a chance for the supporters to really buy into it and be there. Not that they haven’t but even more. Just to own that bit of your club, I think that’s brilliant. It’s a win for everybody involved.”

Hutton is right, not everybody will be able to afford the minimum by up of £500 but through Follow Rangers, anyone can get involved with just £10 being enough to secure a part of the club.

Who finished as Rangers top goal scorer this season?

It’s incredible to see the fans, board, players and management all in unison and moving in the same direction for what seems like the first time in over 20 years, it truly is a testament to the work being done both on, and off the pitch.
