Alfredo Morelos has long been linked with a move away from Rangers and recent speculation has seen West Ham United be added to the long list of potential suitors.

The Colombian international only last week spoke about his desire to move to the Premier League and, as a result, much of the talk has been about which clubs would potentially be a decent move for El Bufalo.

Speaking to Football Insider, Gabriel Agbonlahor, the former England cap and Premier League striker, believes that his old club Aston Villa could do a lot worse than turning their attentions to Rangers and attempt to prise their star man away:

“He could go to a number of clubs.

“I would love to see him at Aston Villa. I think he’s a great striker. Apart from the top four, five all the other clubs would have him.

“He’s quite quick, he’s a finisher, he’s aggressive, he works hard and he’d add a lot to all of those clubs.”

Morelos has shown in the Europa League that he is more than capable of mixing it with better opposition, breaking record for both his club and UEFA in the process. His performances against Royal Antwerp, where he was involved in eight of the nine goals Rangers scored demonstrating perfectly just how effective he can be.

In what year did Allan McGregor make his Rangers debut?

With Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten now available, we have coped a lot better without Morelos than we have in the past, however, he remains a pivotal figure and there is no doubt that he remains one of the first names on the team sheet – with 15 goals and 12 assists this season, even when he isn’t at his best, he is a force to be reckoned with and one I’m not entirely sure the Premier League is ready for.
