Daniel Candeias produced a performance of the highest quality to help sink St Johnstone at Ibrox on Sunday.

He rounded off the victory with the side’s fifth goal of the day in a 5-1 win, but in truth he had already delivered a man of the match calibre performance, terrorising the visiting defence throughout the 90 minutes and linking up expertly with the likes of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.

The Portuguese attacking midfielder hadn’t hit his stride this season prior to yesterday, not providing the kind of attacking influence fans had come to expect last season.

However, he was superb yesterday and if he can string together more displays like that he will be a firm fixture in Steven Gerrard’s side all season. On his day he is one of the best players in the country.

These supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his afternoon…
