Signing Liverpool forward Dominic Solanke is still a possibility for Rangers this summer, according The Scottish Sun, who report that a loan move for the player is one of the options to fill a priority position for Steven Gerrard.

The paper say that the new Gers boss wants a central defender and a striker before the transfer window closes, having already made a massive nine signings since being announced as manager.

Amongst those signings was Roma striker Umar Sadiq, but with Alfredo Morelos the only other viable forward at the club, more strength may be needed in a long campaign in which the club will hoping to be competing for major honours.

Solanke has utilised often as a substitute at Liverpool last term but rarely started for Jurgen Klopp and is in need for more first-team football to further his development. He scored his first goal from the club on the last day of the Premier League season against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Rated at £9m by Transfermarkt, the 20-year-old undoubtedly has the kind of ability to make an impression in the Scottish Premiership.

He is being tipped as a future regular for the England international team, having won his first cap for Gareth Southgate’s side last November against Brazil.

A loan move could be the perfect thing for all parties ahead of the new season.
