Many Rangers players received plaudits from supporters in the wake of Sunday’s impressive win over Hearts at Ibrox, but nobody is connecting more with fans right now than attacking midfielder Daniel Candeias.
Steven Gerrard made over a dozen signings in the summer transfer window, but it’s a Pedro Caixinha man who continues to epitomise the values that Gerrard has made important in Rangers colours.
His hard working performances, combined with a clinical edge in the final third, have made the Portuguese a real fan favourite, with his display against Craig Levein’s side being one of his best to date.
He provided the assist for Alfredo Morelos to flick home with a backheel, his second creative supply for the Colombian in as many games.
Fans can’t wait to see what he does next and took to Twitter in the wake of Sunday’s game to enthuse about his impact on recent Gers performances…

Daniel, if you and the boys can play as well as Thursday and yesterday, in every game or nearly every game, between now and the end of the season then we won't be far off being champions. YOU and the lads are playing with fight, passion, commitment and GREAT football. THANK YOU

Man of the match for me the day. Always put a shift in, tracking back doing the donkey work, threat going forward now adding goals and assists.
