Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side left a sold out Ibrox absolutely delighted on Thursday night, winning 3-1 against Austrian visitor Rapid Vienna in UEFA Europa League action.

The Gers now top their group after two matches after also picking up a point away to Villarreal on matchday one.

An Alfredo Morelos double and a James Tavernier penalty provided the victory, having initially gone behind in the match just before half-time.

That goal aside, the defensive line played superbly with Jon Flanagan winning plaudits in particular for his committed display. He was brought into the side to replace Borna Barisic, who was dropped from Sunday’s defeat to Livingston.

After that 90 minutes, he’s done his chances of more regular action no harm at all.

Should he replace the Croatian in the team going forward?

Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his display…
