Rangers fans are excited by the possibility of adding Hearts defender John Souttar to Steven Gerrard’s squad at Ibrox this summer.

As reported by The Daily Record, Souttar has emerged as a serious summer transfer target this weekend, with Mark Allen said to be a big fan of the 22-year-old.

The paper say it will cost at least £1m to secure his signature, with three years left on his current deal at Tynecastle.

Despite his young age, Souttar already has excellent senior experience having made 73 appearances for Dundee United and 109 for Hearts, also winning caps with Scotland.

He was in impressive form today at Hampden, scoring the second goal in a 3-0 Scottish Cup semi-final win over Inverness CT, also making a number of crucial defensive interventions.

With ball-playing ability and excellent potential, it’s not a surprise to see that Rangers fans are keen on his signature, with many taking to Twitter today to discuss the latest reports…
