Rangers are out of Europe after being defeated by Rapid Vienna in UEFA Europa League action this evening.

Despite the Gers hitting the bar and pushing for the opening goal, the Austrians scored the winner in a 1-0 victory late on to send Steven Gerrard’s side crashing out of Group G, having needed all three points to progress.

It was a match many fans will consider as winnable considering the home side hardly produced an excellent performance, with many left frustrated with some of the Rangers players’ displays.

One star criticised was Lassana Coulibaly, who didn’t appear to have the creative ideas to do anything positive in the middle of the park despite being played in a more advanced position than Ryan Jack and Ross McCrorie.

The Angers loanee hasn’t looked the same player after his injury than before it. Is it a confidence issue? Is he still not fully fit? Whatever the answers are, Gerrard needs to find a way to help turn around his recent form.

These fans were disappointed with his Thursday display and took to Twitter to share their frustrations…
