Rangers fans have been discussing the possibility of signing Ryan Kent on a permanent basis this summer.
Club insider blog Four Lads Had A Dream have been passing on rumours this week that we may be able to bring him to Glasgow for a fee of around £5.5m.
Lots asking on Ryan Kent £5.5m rumour –
It’s went from £7m-£6m-£5.5m ‘done’ in last week, I have no idea if it’s true, the deals going in right direction but will say what I always have said here is we are definitely in the running & have a chance
On Mexer deal, this one

Those rumours contradict the general assumption that if we had any chance of keeping Kent at Ibrox next season it would again be on a loan basis.
His contract at Liverpool does not expire for a number of years and his form in Scotland this season has surely been good enough to attract the attention of plenty of clubs south of the border.
Still, it seems the club are doing everything possible to get a deal for Kent over the line – even if it means blowing much of our summer transfer budget.
Most fans of course are eager to see the player make a move to the Gers, but is he worth that kind of money?
He’s definitely been impressive but with six goals and nine assists for the season there’s an argument to suggest he should be more consistent with his direct goal threat.
Supporters have been seriously discussing the issue over the last 24 hours, with some feeling landing him would be a real statement of intent and others worried about potentially shelling out a lot of money for the player…
Would be a huge statement by club if we can secure Kent on a permanent deal.

Might be in minority but if we spend £5.5M plus on Kent then he needs to produce more consistently week on week. He’s hit purple patches this season but also had quite few poor games. Still an investment which you would imagine we would make money from

Would be an outrageous amount of money to spend and not improve from where we are right now.
I was hoping for another season loan, as it stands he is not worth spending the majority of our transfer budget on.— Faceless ???? (@FacelessRanger) May 8, 2019
Kent will only get better imo, would expect numbers to go up and goals tally to pretty much double. There’s your exclusive right there!

The problem with £5.5m on Kent, which may in time net us a healthy profit, is that it will be a significant percentage of our summer budget. Do we spank it on one player and lose the other 3/4 first choice targets? A loan again with fee to buy next summer would be optimum deal

Wouldn’t spend that much on Kent , like him as a player but we need to have the ability to make big profits on players .

Getting a player of Kent’s calibre for £5.5 million is a steal, despite his stats. He now knows the league, i have no doubts that he will tear it up next season. Could double our money very easily

I’m not so sure the Kent deal is a good investment , difficult to accumulate on a 5.5 mil deal in the Scottish league unless he was to improve significantly, too much of a risk.
Still think a loan for another year would be the best option, as I would love to see him back
