Glenn Middleton shone brightly in his first start for Rangers this week and fans are hugely excited about his potential.
The 18-year-old winger had made a number of substitute appearances before taking to the pitch against Ayr United in League Cup action on Wednesday night but was finally trusted by manager Steven Gerrard to get the job done in an important match.
He certainly took his chance with aplomb, scoring two goals and producing a man-of-the-match calibre performance in front of an Ibrox crowd.
As young prospects go at the club, it’s been a long time since fans were this enthusiastic.
There are now calls for him to start his first league match this weekend against Livingston, which would be the latest milestone for a player whose stock has risen significantly since joining from Norwich City.
These fans took to Twitter this week to share their thoughts on his performance…
I’m trying so hard not to get too excited about Glenn Middleton but I’m struggling. What a talent.

Graeme Murty has had some stick but in snapping up Glenn Middleton, you feel he has left Gerrard something pretty special.

Giving Middleton a start and seeing him score 2 well taken goals is brilliant. We're clearly handling him with caution but I'd rather see that than it all go wrong from putting too much pressure on him
