James Tavernier’s flourishing career as a social media influencer and streamer has taken off and his recent videos have given Gers fans unprecedented access to their skipper at a time when the closest we can get is on Rangers TV.

Only last week, the captain brandished Alfredo Morelos “a pest” when asked what he was like to play with, but today he went further after images of the Rangers striker emerged of him booting Tavernier up the backside following the 3-0 win over Livingston.

“Thats what I get every single day, him just being a pest, he’s just like a big kid, honestly.

“I’m happy that those pictures were taken then I can just prove what he is like every single day, some guy, I can’t hate the fella that’s the thing, we’ve been together a few years now.

“You know what, I wish I was paid extra to babysit him!

“He’s a pest and a riot, but I love the guy man.

“He can speak English I know he can speak English, it’s whether he chooses to, and that guy doesn’t choose to…

“It all adds up to what he is, he’s just, honestly, a riot!”

There’s a clear camaraderie in the team now, forged in adversity but strengthened in victory, and another reason why the expected departures this summer might not be as straight forward as some may think.

Morelos clearly loves it at Rangers, he has achieved everything he set out to do except for playing Champions League football, but we all know how close that is on the horizon, and we all, even Tavernier, would love for our “pest” to be around long enough to fire us into the group stages.
