Josh Windass was also speaking to the media following Saturday’s victory over Hearts and with recent disappointments he was delighted to send the Rangers fans home happy.

Having fallen behind at Tynecastle on the day, a Kenny Miller brace and an effort from Windass gave us the three one victory and speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media post game, he explained his celebration was borne out of frustration.

With 14,000 travelling for the game, he also benefited directly from Miller’s recall as he laid on his second goal of the season.

‘I have just seen Kenny get on the half turn and I have gone to get short but I went long because Kenny has picked the pass. I`ve had a shot and it`s gone in so it was a great ball from Kenny and a good goal all round. My celebration was just a bit of frustration I think – that`s just about it. It is always good to score in front of the fans and it was a good feeling. 14,000 away fans is unheard of I think so it was a great turnout and everyone went home happy.’

With Murty taking charge for the second time in 2017, Windass revealed that his main message pre game was to go out there and enjoy themselves as with that confidence the talent would come through.

‘It has just been as normal this week, we can only train as normal but the place has been vibrant and we have all trained well and prepared for this game. Murts told us to just go and enjoy ourselves. I thought in the first-half we played quite well but they scored a wonder goal and it put us under the cosh for about 15 minutes after that but I thought we deserved the win.’

He added.

‘I think the game was going fine for us when they scored, we were getting into the final third, getting shots off early and then they have scored a great free-kick. We brought Kenny back in today and I thought he got in the pockets well, I thought Alfredo held the ball up brilliantly and Ross and Danny at the back were brilliant too.’
