One of the stranger transfer rumours to emerge regarding Rangers over the past few days has been a link with Motherwell right midfielder/right back Chris Cadden.
BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton claimed during commentary for the Steelmen’s match against Clyde on Saturday that the Ibrox side were interested in bringing him to the club.
He’s been one of the stand-out players at Motherwell in recent seasons and still just 21 years of age, has plenty of potential.
His form was good enough last season to win caps for the Scotland national team, one of the influx of new players to feature for the Tartan Army against Peru and Mexico prior to the World Cup.
With just a year left on his contract, adding him to the squad could prove to be a shrewd bit of business.
Many fans aren’t convinced though, or simply don’t think it’s a viable rumour, taking to Twitter over the past few days to share their thoughts on Sutton’s comments…
He would be a very good signing imo.
Definitely a Steven Gerrard type player. Would be direct competition for Tav who is arguably our weakest defender.— DougieTheDon (@DougieDon1) July 28, 2018
cadden will never come to rangers, wether motherwell accept a bid or not

This cropped up the other day when Gerrard and Gary Mac were pictured at Fir Park. Some saying he was just watching how they play, others saying they were scouting Cadden. I have it on good authority they are travelling round the grounds rating the pies.

Gerrard was at Motherwells last league cup game. Rangers are away to Motherwell on week 3 of the league. Some were saying he was there to scout cadden instead, 2+2=5 sort of stuff. Chris doesn’t have sources at rangers so it’s from motherwells end if it’s true. Can’t see it tbh.

Not good enough for rangers

Id take Cadden, not as a right back tho. Think he's worse than Tav at defending. https://t.co/7NY9e5tG97

I would be surprised if that was true. He is predominately a rightwinger/midfielder and we have got Candeias, Kent, Murphy who can play there, plus Windass if needed.
