Rangers produced a professional performance on Sunday to defeat St Mirren 2-0 at Ibrox, despite playing the majority of the match with ten men.
Ross McCrorie was sent off in the first half, leaving his teammates at a severe disadvantage, but the Light Blues had already established a two-goal lead thanks to Alfredo Morelos and Connor Goldson.
As captain for the day, Goldson has drawn lots of plaudits for his Sunday performance, but his defensive partner Nikola Katic is also in the thoughts of many Rangers fans.
The 21-year-old Croatian has taken to life at Ibrox amazingly well and already looks like he has been playing alongside Goldson for much longer than the handful of games started so far this season.
It’s the best defensive partnership in the league already and fans can’t wait to see how he progresses over the course of this season.
Supporters took to Twitter on Sunday to share their thoughts on his most recent display…
Goldson the standout at the back and getting alot of acolades but big Katic is strolling these games. He looks some player and still very young. Think we have a really good player on our hands with him.

Great win again for Rangers, clean sheet despite sending off. Katic and Goldson will give very little away this season. Barasic (spelling) will be stand out LB this year.

Katic was our best player today

Thought Katic was really good mate. Morelos is going to be an absolute nightmare for defenders this season in this form.

not wanting to get carried away but Barisic and Katic will make Rangers £20m+ in transfer fees when they move on. both excellent
