Ryan Kent’s delightful finish has given Rangers the lead away to Hamilton Accies this afternoon, but many fans have been left pining for midfield controller Scott Arfield.
Much of the first 45 minutes in Hamilton were frustrating to watch for fans, with Rangers generally looking devoid of any attacking ideas.
The link between midfield and attack has been missing and many attribute it to Arfield being out of the team, who usually performs that job with aplomb.
Arfield was sadly injured on international duty with Canada, severely weakening Steven Gerrard’s midfield.
Thankfully though Rangers found a way through thanks to the continually impressive Ryan Kent, who chipped beautifully into the net just before the interval.
Today is a huge match, with the Gers having previously not won away in the Scottish Premiership this season. Here’s hoping that all changes after the second 45 minutes.
These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Arfield’s missing presence today…
Nobody getting in the box there. Missing Arfield. Ejaria needs to get forward quicker, particularly if Morelos is deep linking play.
