At the time Mark Warburton was speaking about a ‘potential’ Brendan Rodgers appointment at Celtic.
Warburton will now be ‘happy’ as the Rangers boss has seen his old Watford mate Rodgers appointed with the former Liverpool boss confirmed as the new chief at Celtic.
This will see the two doing battle next season in the Premiership!
Rodgers was the boss at Watford when Warburton was part of the coaching set up at Vicarage Road with both going from strength to strength since with Warbs saying ‘there’s no doubt about his qualities’ saying he would be a ‘great choice’ should he be appointed.
This has now been confirmed.
A potentially interesting season next time round just got a little more interesting with Rodgers likely to add something to Celtic, Warburton (given his previous with the Northern Irishman) will be as keen as we are for Rangers to challenge the Champions!
We’ve still got unfinished business this season though, bring on the Scottish Cup final tomorrow against Hibernian to end a great season – with another trophy hopefully….
